Job Description
Canonical is seeking a Linux Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team focused on optimising Ubuntu for cutting-edge silicon technology. This role involves partnering with a major silicon company to enhance Ubuntu across the full Linux stack, from kernel to GUI. The Engineering Manager will oversee commercial engagements, ensure timely project delivery, and develop the team through coaching and mentoring.
Role involves:
- Designing and implementing Ubuntu integration for hardware platforms and software stacks.
- Engaging with commercial partners to deliver optimised Ubuntu experiences.
- Overseeing commercial engagements and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Ensuring commitment to quality and reliability standards.
- Aligning with other Canonical teams on product architecture and roadmaps.
Requirements:
- Experience with Linux distributions and high-performance hardware.
- Experience working with customers and resolving technical issues.
- Experience managing a team of software engineers.
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technology field.
