Job Description
Canonical is seeking a skilled Linux Platform Integration - Ubuntu Systems Senior Engineer. The successful candidate will focus on optimizing Ubuntu for the latest silicon, working across the full Linux stack from kernel through networking, virtualization, and graphics. This is a fully remote role.
Role involves:
- Designing and implementing Ubuntu integration for hardware platforms and software stacks.
- Collaborating with partners to provide optimized Ubuntu experiences.
- Providing technical leadership in customer engagements involving system architectures.
- Assisting partners with integrating apps, SDKs, and optimizing applications using Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
- Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto).
- Experience working with open source communities and licenses.
- Experience with Python, C, C++.
- Ability to work in a globally distributed team with self-discipline and motivation.
