Canonical is seeking a Technical Account Manager to enhance Ubuntu's user experience on partner hardware. Canonical a growing international software company that works with the open-source community to deliver Ubuntu. The role involves collaboration with leading OEMs, ODMs, and silicon partners, requiring a deep understanding of Linux and hardware.

Role involves:

  • Working closely with partners on platform bring up.
  • Debugging and prioritizing issues, escalating to engineering teams.
  • Facilitating communication between Ubuntu, firmware, and hardware engineering teams.
  • Building and maintaining working relationships with partners.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and organizing details to reproduce results.
  • Providing fast response times and timelines for resolving technical issues.
  • Planning and delivering Ubuntu ecosystem technical training to partners.
  • Designing and providing factory support during production preparation.
  • Occasional international travel to the EU, USA, Taiwan, and China.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or higher degree in STEM, preferably Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • Good interpersonal skills for collaboration.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Linux kernel, boot and system-level architecture skills.
  • Linux debugging and resolution abilities.
  • Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team.
  • Ability to learn fast and work on cutting-edge technologies.
