Canonical is seeking a Technical Account Manager to enhance Ubuntu's user experience on partner hardware. Canonical a growing international software company that works with the open-source community to deliver Ubuntu. The role involves collaboration with leading OEMs, ODMs, and silicon partners, requiring a deep understanding of Linux and hardware.
Role involves:
- Working closely with partners on platform bring up.
- Debugging and prioritizing issues, escalating to engineering teams.
- Facilitating communication between Ubuntu, firmware, and hardware engineering teams.
- Building and maintaining working relationships with partners.
- Conducting root cause analysis and organizing details to reproduce results.
- Providing fast response times and timelines for resolving technical issues.
- Planning and delivering Ubuntu ecosystem technical training to partners.
- Designing and providing factory support during production preparation.
- Occasional international travel to the EU, USA, Taiwan, and China.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's or higher degree in STEM, preferably Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Good interpersonal skills for collaboration.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
- Linux kernel, boot and system-level architecture skills.
- Linux debugging and resolution abilities.
- Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team.
- Ability to learn fast and work on cutting-edge technologies.
