Canonical is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the effort of adapting Ubuntu for mission-critical systems in industries like automotive, aerospace, and industrial robotics. The Staff Engineer will transform complex demands into concrete outcomes, fostering engineering excellence across the organization. This role involves leading and challenging engineering culture, collaborating with teams, and defining Canonical's ways of working.Canonical is a pioneering tech firm that is at the forefront of the global move to open source.   • Lead compliance and certification efforts.
  • Define methods for measuring quality and shaping engineering culture.
  • Establish strategic relations with external working groups and partners.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to implement continuous improvement processes.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in engineering and process management in an agile environment.
  • Knowledge of standards addressing software quality (e.g., ISO/IEC 25010, ASPICE).
  • Experience in leading successful compliance and certification efforts.
  • Experience with Linux.
