Job Description

Canonical is seeking a Global Payroll Administrator to manage the company’s end-to-end global payroll and contractor payments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with outsourced payroll bureaus and possess domain expertise in processing payroll in different countries. The role can be based in London or home-based, reporting to the Global Financial Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery.
  • Process payroll/contractor data in an organized manner.
  • Manage payroll deadlines and monthly tasks.
  • Prepare payroll reports and provide monthly payroll data to finance.
  • Comply with GDPR regulations and maintain payroll security.
  • Address payroll queries and escalate as needed.
  • Improve systems and processes for seamless HR, Payroll, and Finance flow.
  • Keep payroll policies up to date and write new procedures.
  • Support project-related activities from Finance and HR.
  • Assist with global payroll expansions and other projects.
  • Manage payroll correspondence and act as a point of contact.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional team relationships.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar payroll role or working with outsourced payroll bureaus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong process and planning mindset.
  • Ability to think outside the box and solve problems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional planning/organisational skills and being deadline oriented.
  • Ability to work with different software systems and knowledge of spreadsheets.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
