Canonical, a remote-first tech company, is seeking a Talent Scientist to join their Talent Science team. This team ensures effective and scientifically rigorous hiring processes to select top talent globally. The Talent Scientist will collaborate with Hiring Leads to drive initiatives, automation, and best practices in talent assessment. This role is not a recruitment position but focuses on the science of talent and performance, providing insights to the business for optimal talent selection.

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving talent analytics to provide real-time insights to the business.
  • Conducting in-depth behavioral talent interviews.
  • Building key relationships with global stakeholders.
  • Driving data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Reviewing and streamlining hiring processes and tools.
  • Working with external third parties to maximize ROI.
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion in the hiring process.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Experience in hiring talent in the technology industry.
  • Passion for scientific approaches to talent selection.
  • An exceptional academic background in Psychology.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills using R, Python, SQL, etc.
  • Exposure to psychometric assessments.
  • Experience in conducting behavioral interviews.
  • High level of personal organization for remote work.
  • Willingness to travel to company events 2-4 times a year.
