Market Data Quality Analyst

IMC is seeking a Market Data Quality Analyst to join their team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will be passionate about financial data, quantitative research, and market analysis. The Market Data Quality Analyst will work closely with quantitative researchers, traders, and engineers to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of data used for developing and optimizing trading strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Acquire, clean, and maintain market data and alternative data from various sources (exchanges, third-party vendors, proprietary feeds).
• Monitor and resolve data anomalies, missing values, and inconsistencies to ensure high data quality.
• Work with data validation frameworks to ensure low-latency and accurate data streams.
• Write SQL queries and Python scripts to automate data processing and integrity checks.
• Work with engineers to enhance data storage, retrieval, and efficiency for research workflows.
• Develop dashboards and reports to visualize data quality and cover and data usage

Requirements:

• 5+ years in a data analysis role, preferably in a trading, quantitative finance, or financial services environment.
• Strong Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy) for data manipulation and analysis.
• Advanced SQL for querying large datasets efficiently.
• Knowledge of time-series analysis and handling high-frequency data.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau).
• Experience working with big data frameworks (Spark, Dask) is a plus.
