Job Description

This is a Researcher role within Labour MP Parliamentary offices. The role involves undertaking research, analysing data, and advising the MP on policy issues. The Researcher will also prepare briefing notes and assist in writing external communications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertake research on relevant subjects as directed.
  • Analyse, evaluate, and interpret data.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge on relevant areas of parliamentary business.
  • Advise and ensure the MP is fully briefed.
  • Give advice on policy issues.
  • Prepare and present briefing notes.
  • Assist in writing external communications including speeches for the MP.
  • Maintain positive ongoing relationships with all parties.
  • Work with colleagues in communications/casework to identify potential impacts.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • Excellent communication skills.
