FREENOW is seeking an Engineering Manager of Developer Experience to join its Core Technology team. This role is based in Barcelona and involves leading an SRE team to enhance the availability and scalability of the FREENOW platform. The Engineering Manager will drive the development of observability tech stack and work closely with the development teams to address their needs. This role involves close collaboration with development teams, offering expertise throughout the entire tech stack to resolve issues and maintain a system-wide perspective.
Role involves:
- Developing and executing a strategic roadmap for the SRE team.
- Implementing SRE best practices and lead agile DevOps practices.
- Managing the on-call team and the incident process.
- Identifying areas for improvement and propose solutions.
- Optimizing resource allocation and usage for operational and cost efficiency.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of SRE.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders regarding reliability metrics.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of software development principles, systems architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of network fundamentals, databases, system administration, Version Control, and CI/CD automation.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java/Kotlin, Go, Python preferred).
- Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
