Job Description

FREENOW is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to join their Supply domain team. The position is open for their Barcelona office. The Staff Engineer will significantly impact the frontend chapter and the broader engineering organization, collaborating with teams of 6 to 8 engineers to shape the technical vision and promote alignment. The role involves championing best practices, mentoring engineers, and driving initiatives that elevate the technical bar for frontend development. The engineer's influence will extend beyond team boundaries, contributing to company-wide architectural decisions and driving cultural and technical change.

The role involves:

  • Collaborating with Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers to define and execute the domain’s technical vision.
  • Leading initiatives such as pairing sessions and knowledge-sharing to elevate technical standards.
  • Leading the design of scalable frontend systems, promoting practices like component-based architecture.
  • Making key technology decisions and managing technical backlogs.
  • Mentoring engineers and guiding technical decisions.
  • Communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Driving technical excellence and innovation while managing technical debt.
  • Supporting hiring and mentoring team members.
  • Upholding FREENOW’s core values.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of React (17+).
  • Experience with Next.js (14+) - Projects with App Router and Pages Router.
  • Proficiency in ES2024 / TypeScript.
  • Experience with Testing Library.
  • Experience with React Server Components.
  • Experience with Multilingual products
  • Experience with Build tools (Vite)
  • Experience with React on the server (Server Components and Actions)
