Job Description
Xometry is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their cost prediction team. The successful candidate will leverage machine-learning tools and techniques to develop, optimize, and evaluate predictive models for various business outcomes. They will also apply their knowledge of probability and statistics to draw defensible statistical inferences from data.Responsibilities include:
- Develop effective predictive models using data science and machine learning principles, with a focus on 3D data.
- Write software for data preparation, cleaning, and sampling.
- Utilize cloud resources (e.g., Amazon Web Services) for data processing.
- Query and extract data from databases (Snowflake and MongoDB).
- Use data analysis and visualization tools (SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Looker) to inform business strategy.
- Iterate solutions in a fast-paced environment and address uncharted problems.
- Work collaboratively and continuously learn.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in applied math, computer science, natural sciences, or engineering (preferred).
- M.S. or PhD in a related field (highly desired).
- 5+ years of experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization techniques.
- 2+ years of experience in 3D deep learning (Mesh, Volumetric, and/or Point Clouds).
- Fluency in Python (pandas, numpy, SciPy, and scikit-learn preferred).
- Proficiency in linear algebra and statistics.
- Familiarity with scientific software principles (versioning systems, reproducibility, code deployment).
- Experience in the manufacturing industry (desired).
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder (ITAR).
