Principal Software Engineer

Job Description

Xometry is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join its quoting & pricing organization. The individual will guide software design for a group of engineers, reporting to the vice president of engineering. The role involves building reliable, high-performance, usable, and secure solutions while solving complex business problems.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-On Technical Leadership: Actively coding and troubleshooting.
• Teaching & Mentorship: Mentor and guide engineers, fostering skill growth.
• Code Review: Perform code reviews and mentor others.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure the delivery of superior software that meets customer expectations.
• Collaborative Strategy: Forge partnerships with product managers, designers, and company leadership.
• Guide Innovation: Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience in software development.
• Experience with a marketplace product is highly desired.
• Strong technical expertise in REST API design and implementation.
• Proficiency in Python, Frontend web technologies including HTML/DOM/CSS, React, and Typescript.
• Experience with Cloud hosting services, especially AWS.
• Experience with Containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of Rust.
• Excellent leadership, execution, and communication skills.
• A US person (citizen or green card holder)
