YLD is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team in Portugal. The successful candidate will be part of a client team, contributing to the development of innovative products in a fast-paced Agile environment. The role involves:

  • Architecting, designing, building, and delivering highly-available API products and solutions.
  • Collaborating with engineers and product owners to deliver value.
  • Writing clear, maintainable code that scales.
  • Contributing to production operation and monitoring of systems.
  • Mentoring other engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
  • Improving team processes and driving good practices.

Requirements:

  • Senior level experience in modern .NET applications written in C# 7+, .NET Core 5+, NuGet
  • Experience designing HTTP APIs using technologies such as ASP.net MVC, WebAPI.
  • Experience in delivering comprehensive test strategies that cover all aspects of the system such as test-driven development (TDD)
  • An understanding of systems design such as strengths and weaknesses of distributed systems, cloud technologies, event sourcing.
  • Experience in using Platform-as-a-Service clouds, ideally in Azure
  • Experience with modern working practices such as CI/CD, pairing, and iterative delivery
  • Experience working in autonomous agile environments;
  • Availability to work a flexible on-call rota, responding to and resolving critical incidents.
  • Legally able to live and work in Portugal.
