Intermediate Database Administration Specialist

Job Description

Spektrum is seeking an Intermediate Database Administration Specialist to join their team in Strasbourg, France. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting eu-LISA, the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice. This role involves managing and maintaining databases and applications to ensure the smooth operation of critical IT systems.

Responsibilities:

• Database installation, configuration, and administration
• Database monitoring and tuning
• Application installation, configuration, and management
• Monitoring of application usage and performance
• Access management
• Writing database and application procedures manuals, including disaster recovery plans
• Database and application incident management
• Coordination of database and application support

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant education (bachelor or equivalent) after secondary school
• Minimum 6 years of IT professional experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in database and application management
• Experience in Database support
• In-depth knowledge of DBMS administration
• Good knowledge of ORACLE DBMS
• Good knowledge of Structured Query Languages (SQL) and particularly PL-SQL
• Experience with ITIL/ITIL V3
• Experience in user support
• Knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Unix, Linux)
• Ability to participate in multilingual meetings and communicate effectively
• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment
• Rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in a team
• Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies
