Job Description
Spektrum is seeking a Senior Network Specialist to work for eu-LISA, the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems. The agency manages large-scale IT systems to support asylum, border management, and migration policies within the EU and is at the forefront of the EU's Justice and Home Affairs digitalization efforts.
The Senior Network Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to network infrastructure.
The role involves:
- Constructing and maintaining data network configurations.
- Designing, testing, and installing network software and hardware.
- Troubleshooting network problems using network analyzers and other tools.
- Managing network-related documentation and technical specifications.
- Configuring and implementing network monitoring and management systems.
- Implementing and monitoring network security.
- Planning network capacity and estimating network utilization.
- Analyzing current network software and proposing modifications.
- Engaging with vendors for network-related services and equipment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of relevant education (master or equivalent) after secondary school.
- Minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience in DNS and IP administration and LAN protocols.
- Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN principles, network configurations, and Internet-Protocol based LAN/WAN administration.
- Advanced knowledge of Firewall/VPN/loadbalancer configuration and troubleshooting.
- Very good knowledge of network security and monitoring.
- In-depth knowledge of load balancing, firewalls, switches, redundancy, and IP addressing concepts.
- Solid understanding of network design, capacity planning, and monitoring.
- Network (Cisco Certified Network Professional/CCNP or equivalent) and IT Service Management/ITSM qualifications (IT Infrastructure Library/ITIL-ITILV3ISO/IEC 20000 or equivalent) would be advantageous
