Spektrum is seeking a Chief of Plans in Affected Nation’s Air (J5) to support the NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, Norway. The JWC focuses on improving NATO's operational capabilities through training and exercises. The role involves providing subject matter expertise to realistically represent the Affected Nation's air strategy to the training audience, acting as the focal point for aeronautical matters, and ensuring a realistic AN Air Power posture. The candidate will develop plans, assist in creating scenario documents, and provide feedback to improve NATO exercise processes. Spektrum supports apex purchasers (NATO, UN, EU, and National Government and Defence) and their Tier 1 supplier ecosystem with a wide range of specialist services.

Role Involves:

  • Providing subject matter expertise on the Affected Nation's air strategy.
  • Advising on the operational and strategic use of Air Assets.
  • Acting as the focal point for AN Aeronautical matters.
  • Coordinating Military Air operational matters.
  • Developing a basic Concept of Operations for AN Military Air assets.
  • Assisting with scenario documents and initial planning stages.
  • Generating exercise material and providing feedback.

Requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience in the last 10 performing at the rank of OF5 or higher within a national Air Force or Naval Aviation.
  • 3 years’ experience in the last 10 of briefing senior leaders/decision makers within a national/international aeronautical environment.
  • 3 years’ employment in the last 10 as a Senior Officer in an operational or strategic national or international Air force headquarters.
  • Experience of leading operational planning activities in an Air Operations headquarters.
  • Sound operational knowledge of military civil aeronautical interaction within the past 5 years.
  • A University/Bachelor’s Degree or Staff College.
  • Business English proficiency.
  • Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance.
