Job Description

Spektrum is seeking a Chief of Plans or equivalent in Affected Nation’s Land (J5) to support the NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, Norway. The JWC focuses on improving NATO's operational capabilities through training and exercises. This role involves providing subject matter expertise to realistically represent the Affected Nation's Land strategy to the training audience, ensuring a realistic AN Land Power posture, and acting as the focal point for AN Land and Army matters during exercise preparation and execution.

The role supports the JWC in delivering full exercise cycles by contributing to the Exercise Control (EXCON) structure. The intent is to mimic all levels of interaction on a global scale, simulating outside actors’ influence on EU/NATO actions.

Role involves:

  • Providing subject matter expertise on Affected Nation Land strategy.
  • Offering expert advice and guidance on the operational and strategic use of Land Assets.
  • Ensuring a realistic AN Land Power posture.
  • Acting as the focal point for AN Land and Army matters.
  • Coordinating Military Land operational matters.
  • Developing a basic Concept of Operations for the use of the AN's Military Land assets.
  • Contributing to the Army green picture.
  • Generating appropriate exercise material.

Requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience in the last 10 performing at the rank of OF5 or higher within a national Army or Marines force.
  • 3 years’ experience in the last 10 of briefing senior leaders/decision makers within a national/international land/army environment.
  • 3 years’ employment in the last 10 as a Senior Officer in an operational or strategic national or international Army/Land headquarters.
  • Experience of leading operational planning activities in an operational Land/Army headquarters.
  • Sound operational knowledge of military civil land forces interaction within the past 5 years.
  • A University/Bachelor’s Degree or Staff College.
  • Business English proficiency.
  • Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance.
