EXCON Special Advisor at Spektrum

Spektrum is seeking an EXCON Special Advisor to support the NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, Norway. The JWC focuses on improving NATO's operational capabilities through training and exercises.

The advisor will provide expertise in exercise planning and delivery, supporting the Exercise Control (EXCON) structure, which is crucial for each exercise cycle. This role involves short-term operational support, functioning as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the EXCON, fulfilling Exercise Play Functions (EPFs).

Role Involves:

• Contributing Flag Officer/General Officer (FOGO) level experience to JWC exercises.
• Employing understanding of NATO Exercise Planning Process (EPP) and Operational Planning Process.
• Providing FOGO level advice and guidance to JWC personnel and Training Audience (TA) staffs.
• Mentoring JWC personnel in key EXCON positions.
• Assisting in analyzing TA-produced orders and documentation.

Requirements:

• 3 years of working experience within the last 10 years in Exercise Planning and Delivery.
• Experience in briefing senior leaders/decision makers.
• In-depth knowledge of NATO’s multi-joint, full spectrum operations.
• Demonstrated professional application of a recognized mentoring practitioner qualification.
• OF-7 Command experience and application of a mentor qualification in the previous 7 years.
• Senior staff, or equivalent military or national Defence College Graduate.
• Business English proficiency.
• Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance.
