Gender Representative at Spektrum

Spektrum is seeking a Gender Representative to support key client projects related to NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) exercises in Stavanger, Norway. The JWC focuses on improving NATO's operational capabilities through training and exercises. This role involves providing subject matter expertise on human development index aspects of military operations, with a specific focus on human rights, transparency, and gender development.

The Gender Representative will realistically represent the exercise scenario to the training audience, interacting with the Affected Nation civil society and broader IOs and NGOs.

Role Involves:

• Acting as the focal point for the training audience on NGO contributions to humanitarian crisis response, particularly regarding gender perspectives.
• Coordinating IO/NGO and humanitarian matters with other representatives.
• Providing recommendations for improving the representation of human development index aspects in the scenario.
• Assisting in the development of a Concept of Operations for humanitarian, human rights, and civil society issues.
• Generating appropriate exercise material to provide a challenging and realistic problem set.
• Acting as director of a fictitious umbrella organization representing IOs/NGOs, focusing on gender issues.

Requirements:

• Significant experience (3+ years in the past 10) working at senior levels.
• Extensive interaction with or working alongside NATO at the operational level.
• At least 2 years within the last 10 years either as a Military Officer or as a civilian.
• A University/Bachelor’s Degree in a gender-related study or 3 years of experience in a related organization.
• Business English proficiency.
• Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance.
