Land Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Description

Spektrum is seeking a Land Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support key client projects at the NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, Norway. The JWC focuses on improving NATO's operational capabilities through training and exercises. This role involves simulating, coordinating, and arranging all opposing actors (OPFOR) during exercise execution, ensuring realistic force composition and mimicking anticipated actions of an opposing force. The SME will directly coordinate OPFOR concepts of operations to challenge allied-partner nation actions (BLUFOR). The Land Subject Matter Expert will be working for Spektrum and will be responsible for:

• Supporting incident development with OPFOR LAND effects.
• Overseeing OPFOR LAND incident development in the Joint Exercise Management Module (JEMM).
• Scripting OPFOR LAND content and ensuring synchronization.
• Providing guidance to OPFOR LAND scripters.
• Contributing to the OPFOR Operational Design from a LAND domain perspective.
• Coordinating CAX and Joint Theatre Level Simulation requirements.
• Supporting Scripting workshops by translating guidance into a deliverable plan..
• Reviewing JEMM database to ensure alignment with the OPFOR Joint Plan.
• Translating dynamic changes into timely OPFOR LAND effects.
• Coordinating critical events with other EXCON staff.

Requirements for this role include:

• Minimum 8 years of military experience in the operational LAND domain within the last 12 years, reaching OF3/OF4 rank.
• Previous Company, Squadron or equivalent Branch/Department commander position at OF3 level or higher.
• Staff Officer qualification at 2-star (Division Level) or higher in LAND, JOINT, or NATO Command Structure.
• Experience in operational planning processes for LAND operations.
• Experience in Microsoft Office.
• Higher-level Civilian, Military or Staff College Education/Degree
• Business English abilities.
• Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance
