Sociocultural Representative at Spektrum

Spektrum is seeking a Sociocultural Representative to support NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) exercises in Stavanger, Norway. The candidate will provide sociocultural subject matter expertise to JWC personnel and training audiences, assisting in understanding the implications of operating in non-western environments. They will help translate this understanding into exercise content, analyze training audience documentation, and provide recommendations for improvement. The role involves assisting in the development of scenario documents, and potentially role-playing as spokespersons for various groups.Role Involves:

• Providing scientific sociocultural subject matter expertise and advice
• Assisting in the development of scenario documents
• Analyzing training audience documentation
• Role-playing as spokespersons for various groups
• Providing recommendations to EXCON personnel

Requirements:

• Significant experience (3+ years in the past 15) in the Cultural Social field
• Practical experience in the required region as described in the Scenario documentation
• 3 years’ experience in the last 10 in briefing senior leaders/decision makers at the governance level
• Experience of interaction with or working alongside NATO at operational level
• A Master’s level Degree (or equivalent higher education/experience) in Social and/or Cultural Anthropology
• Business English proficiency
• Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance
