United Nations Representative at Spektrum

Spektrum is seeking a United Nations Representative to support NATO exercises at the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, Norway. The JWC focuses on improving NATO's operational capabilities through training and exercises. Spektrum supports apex purchasers (NATO, UN, EU, and National Government and Defence) and their Tier 1 supplier ecosystem with a wide range of specialist services.

The UN Representative will realistically represent UN missions within exercises. The role involves providing subject matter expertise on UN operations to the training audience, developing a Concept of Operations for UN involvement, coordinating with political representatives, providing UN documentation and acting as the focal point for political matters related to the UN within the exercise.

Role Involves:

• Providing subject matter expertise in recent and scenario UN operations.
• Developing a Concept of Operations for UN involvement, reflecting tasking for political interactions with the Training Audience.
• Coordinating with relevant political representatives to ensure coherent UN representation.
• Providing realistic UN documents for the exercise.
• Acting as the focal point for the training audience on political matters relating to the UN.
• Analyzing training audience plans and documentation and their impacts on UN matters.
• Monitoring training audience activity to provide feedback to JWC Exercise Control staff.
• Being familiar with the latest relevant UN publications.

Requirements:

• Demonstrate 3 years’ experience in the last 10 of working in NATO or a UN organization involved in the African region at a senior level.
• A University/Bachelor’s Degree or Staff College (or equivalent higher-level education/experience)
• Business English proficiency
• Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance
