Staff Engineer, Product Offering at Forter

Forter is looking for a Staff Engineer. The Staff Engineer will evolve a key product and take a leading role in shaping Forter’s Chargeback Coverage & Resolution solution.

The Dispute Group is dedicated to safeguarding companies, using innovative technology to combat chargeback abuse and protect their growth.

This role offers a high agency to execute technical vision, experience working on complex offline and online architecture and collaboration in a friendly, high-talent-density environment.

What the role involves:

• Develop a fully automated dispute platform to prevent, deflect, and recover chargebacks to reduce revenue loss.
• Build and maintain a highly performant, scalable chargeback management system, originating from various input sources and reporting at changing rates.
• Define and optimize the scale, reliability, observability, and SLOs of the chargeback management platform.

What you'll need:

• 7+ years of experience building and maintaining complex backend systems using modern programming languages, preferably with Node.js and TypeScript experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a tech lead/architect/team lead.
• Passion and experience overseeing a product’s entire lifecycle and learning from our customers.
• Experience designing and working with large-scale distributed systems.
• Strive to uphold top-notch software engineering practices such as high-quality code, thorough testing, and clear & comprehensive documentation.
• Promote production, product, and growth mindsets.
• Project management experience.
• Strong communication skills including stakeholder management.
• Significant experience with various data stores and pipelines such as Kafka, Redis, ElasticSearch, and MySQL.
• Experience with AWS or other public clouds.
