Smartly is seeking a Technical Art Director to optimize Google Display creative and media campaigns for its clients. This role involves working closely with clients and the design team to drive innovation, provide design expertise, and ensure process adherence. The Technical Art Director will report to the Head of Creative in North America.

The role involves:
  • Guiding and improving the creative process
  • Leading client discussions about process expectations and requirements
  • Collaborating with various teams including client services, design, production, and QA
  • Identifying and resolving process-related issues
  • Sharing best practices in digital advertising
  • Advising on and critiquing design outputs
  • Understanding and leveraging Smartly's product capabilities
  • Explaining complex creative production techniques to clients
The ideal candidate should have:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital advertising or studio management
  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of HTML5 capabilities and dynamic advertising principles
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and advertising best practices
  • Familiarity with popular social media platforms
  • Experience working with designers and creative teams
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and other industry-standard tools
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong prioritization and resource management skills
  • Comfortable with working in a NorAm schedule (night shift)
