Job Description
Smartly is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to improve the quality and reliability of its product suite. This role focuses on complex engineering challenges at the intersection of platform engineering, quality, and developer experience, impacting the entire Product & Engineering organization.Smartly is looking for someone to build tools to validate frontend and backend performance, create AI agents to improve DevEx, evaluate the quality of AI-based solutions, ensure system resiliency, and enhance tooling for automated testing. The engineer will collaborate with the Quality Lead, Principal Engineers, and Infrastructure teams to drive engineering excellence through hands-on work and knowledge sharing.Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop tools to boost the reliability and quality of Smartly products.
  • Incorporate AI to elevate developer experience.
  • Enhance solutions to increase test stability and run the right tests at the right time.
  • Contribute to codebases with spread ownership.
  • Drive the implementation and usage of the tools created, guiding teams to success.
  • Mentor engineers on best practices about observability, resiliency, and testability.
  • Apply and enhance soft skills, working closely with multiple product teams.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record in creating tools and infrastructure adopted by multiple teams.
  • Autonomy, proactivity, and the ability to unblock yourself when you need help.
  • Strong ability to explain and visualize complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Ability and desire to dive into unfamiliar areas and learn fast.
  • Experience building scalable data storages.
  • Platform engineering experience is a plus.
