Job Description
Smartly is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to improve the quality of Smartly's product suite. This role focuses on platform engineering, quality, and developer experience, impacting the entire Product & Engineering organization. The engineer will build tools to validate performance, use AI to improve DevEx, evaluate the quality of AI solutions, ensure system resiliency, and enhance tooling for automated testing. They will collaborate with the Quality Lead, Principal Engineers, and Infrastructure teams to drive engineering excellence through hands-on work and knowledge sharing.
Role involves:
- Designing and developing tools to boost the reliability and quality of Smartly products.
- Incorporating AI to elevate developer experience.
- Enhancing solutions to increase test stability and to run the right tests at the right time.
- Contributing to the codebases with spread ownership.
- Driving the implementation and usage of the tools you create, guiding teams to success.
- Mentoring engineers on best practices about observability, resiliency and testability.
- Applying and enhancing your soft skills, working closely with multiple product teams.
- Staying current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, advertising, and digital marketing.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in creating tools and infrastructure adopted by multiple teams.
- Autonomy, proactivity and the ability to unblock yourself when you need help.
- Strong ability to explain and visualize complex concepts in simple terms.
- Ability and desire to dive into unfamiliar areas and learn fast.
- Building scalable data storages to keep thousands of millions of records.
- Platform engineering experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in a hybrid capacity from our Berlin/Helsinki office 3 days a week (more if you like).
