VP of Engineering, AI Product Lab at Smartly

Smartly is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead the AI Product Lab. The VP will be a member of the Product Development Leadership team, setting the vision and strategy for ML and Data Science applications, driving execution, and championing ML competencies at Smartly.

The role involves:

• Setting and driving the vision and strategy for the application of ML and AI at Smartly.
• Mentoring, growing, and empowering teams.
• Delivering innovative applications based on machine learning.
• Validating new ideas with customers.
• Partnering with recruiting to scale the team.
• Serving as a member of the Product Development Leadership at Smartly.

Smartly requires candidates to have:

• 12+ years of experience in building services and products.
• 6+ years of experience in applying machine learning to real-life problems.
• 5+ years of experience in leading teams.
• Competency with key ML technologies.
• A pragmatic mindset and ability to create value for customers.
• Understanding of security and compliance requirements when working with personal data
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability and willingness to work from our office either in Helsinki or Berlin for three days a week.
