Job Description

Appian is seeking a Senior Technical Consultant to join its Customer Success team. The successful candidate will engage with customers post-sales to develop software solutions on the Appian platform, driving digital transformation and competitive differentiation.

The role involves leading projects and working throughout the entire project life-cycle, defining, designing, developing, and implementing custom software solutions using Appian’s low-code platform for commercial clients. The Senior Technical Consultant will work within an agile environment to understand client’s business processes and technical needs, launch new relational data models, develop APIs, and mentor other consultants.

The candidate will collaborate with client’s technical teams and business users throughout the software development life cycle and drive adoption by empowering clients to become self-sufficient.

This role is based at Appian Headquarters in McLean, Virginia, and requires in-office presence 5 days a week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading projects through the software development lifecycle.
  • Defining, designing, developing, and implementing custom software solutions.
  • Working in an agile environment to understand business and technical needs.
  • Launching new relational data models in production.
  • Developing APIs for system integration.
  • Mentoring consultants.

Requirements:

  • Passion for mentoring and leading teams.
  • Ability to define business processes and gather requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with agile methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases.
  • Knowledge of software testing practices and API integrations.
  • 3+ years of experience with software development or technical consulting.
  • B.S./B.A. in a relevant field.
  • Willingness to travel (20%).
