Information Security Operations Analyst

Job Description

Appian is seeking an Information Security Operations Analyst to join their Security Operations team, based in McLean, Virginia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing security alerts, evaluating emerging threats, managing vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Appian values in-person collaboration and expects employees to be in the office five days a week.

The role involves:

• Assisting with continuous monitoring activities.
• Coordinating with teams to research potential security issues.
• Supporting internal and external security reviews, audits, and control evaluations.
• Participating in incident reporting and investigation processes.
• Supporting vendor security monitoring process.
• Conducting risk analysis and providing recommendations.
• Supporting information security projects.
• Participating in blue-team and red-team activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field of study.
• An understanding of cloud technologies and networking protocols & technologies - TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, etc.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Passion about staying up to date on current security risks and trends.
