Engineering Manager, Wufoo

Job Description

SurveyMonkey is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Wufoo product engineering team in Bengaluru. This role involves working closely with domain experts and business owners to establish delivery models for Wufoo, a mature product with a large customer base.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for building and leading an engineering organization consisting of Software Engineers, Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and more. They will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and ensure the team's success. The role also involves the health and maintenance of the existing PHP application, Python services, and AWS infrastructure that constitute Wufoo.

This position requires active engagement with the product and engineering teams to ensure high-performance standards, maintainability, and compliance. The Engineering Manager will represent the engineering team in cross-functional discussions, balance priorities, assess risks, and take ownership of service-level objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• Building and leading a team of engineers.
• Maintaining the existing PHP application, Python services, and AWS infrastructure.
• Leading the ownership transition of Wufoo from North America to India.
• Ensuring product meets high-performance standards.
• Representing Engineering in cross-functional team discussions.

Requirements include:

• 4+ years of management experience.
• 12+ years of hands-on experience in SaaS product development.
• Experience with mature monolithic PHP applications.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, React or node.js is desired.
• Experience with SaaS product operations.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
