Senior Systems Engineer - DevPlatform Team

Job Description

SurveyMonkey is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their DevPlatform Team. This role is based in Bengaluru and focuses on developing and maintaining the CI/CD pipeline for SurveyMonkey's Node.js ecosystem. The Senior Systems Engineer will collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to implement best practices and ensure smooth deployments.

This is a hybrid role, requiring the candidate to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Bengaluru three days a week. In this role, the candidate will play a crucial role in standardizing tooling and unifying the company towards a single golden path approach.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in CI/CD pipeline development, with significant experience in Node.js application environments.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience leading and taking ownership of Node.js toolchain for the company.
• Comfortable working with Node.js, Typescript, and tooling such as esbuild, webpack, npm.
• Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Bash or Python) for automation.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, specifically AWS EKS).
• Hands-on experience with GitOps tools like Argo CD or Flux CD.
• Knowledge of cloud platform AWS and their CI/CD integrations.
• Experience with static code analysis tools.
• Familiarity with industry standards regarding releases, rollbacks, and deployments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve existing processes for better efficiency and effectiveness.
• Experience Mentoring junior engineers and leading projects.
