SurveyMonkey is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to join their Market Research Solutions (MRX) team. The candidate will be a key technical leader, driving the development of high-performance user experiences. They will shape the architecture, scalability, and maintainability of frontend applications while mentoring engineers and advocating for best practices.
The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are user-centric, performant, and scalable.
What this role involves:
- Architecting and developing robust, scalable, and high-performance frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Driving technical excellence by leading frontend initiatives and mentoring engineers.
- Collaborating with product and design teams to deliver intuitive and accessible user interfaces.
- Enhancing frontend performance, security, and scalability.
- Owning the entire development lifecycle, from technical design to deployment and monitoring.
- Actively contributing to architecture and frontend guilds and championing innovation in frontend development.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in frontend development with expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Extensive experience with React.js and state management libraries like Redux.
- Understanding of design patterns, micro-frontends, and modular architectures.
- Experience with performance optimization techniques and accessibility best practices (WCAG).
- Proficiency in collaborating with backend teams and working with RESTful APIs.
- Track record of leading large-scale frontend projects.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical initiatives.
- Exposure to frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel) and testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress).
- Experience with WebAssembly, Web Components, or Progressive Web Apps.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and frontend observability tools.
- Experience with building and deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
