Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Description

PALO IT is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure using AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes. They will apply DevOps practices and solutions, conduct client workshops to identify challenges, develop transformation roadmaps, and deliver technical solutions. The Senior DevOps Engineer will also coach delivery teams on DevOps best practices and provide expert guidance and strategic consulting to clients.

The role involves:

• Providing reliable and scalable cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.
• Designing, building, configuring, maintaining, and supporting cloud infrastructure.
• Implementing and supporting various CI/CD, security, and testing tools.
• Developing multi-stage CI/CD pipelines to enable faster and frequent releases to production.
• Documenting and sharing knowledge on developed DevSecOps solutions.
• Conducting client workshops to identify challenges, develop transformation roadmaps, and deliver technical solutions.
• Collaborating with clients and other PALO IT teams to understand client requirements, design comprehensive end-to-end approaches, and implement DevOps solutions that meet client needs.
• Approaching projects with an engineering consultant mindset, providing expert guidance and strategic consulting to clients.
• Utilizing AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor to enhance development processes and improve efficiency.

• Proficiency in working with AI coding assistants.
• Understanding of prompt engineering principles.
• Ability to collaborate with AI tools while maintaining code quality.
• Critical thinking to validate AI-generated code.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn and stay updated with the AI landscape.
• Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies.
• Ability to coach delivery teams on DevOps principles.
• Proficiency with public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Strong exposure to container technologies.
• Hands-on experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform.
• Experience in developing and implementing processes for handling releases.
• Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and migrating CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of microservice and event-driven architectures and DevSecOps practices.
• Proficiency in setting up and configuring monitoring and security tools.
• Strong RDBMS and NoSQL skills.
• 6-10 years of experience in platform automation, applying various DevOps principles.
