Job Description
Reddit is seeking an Engineering Manager for Auto-Bidding to lead a team responsible for designing and optimizing large-scale, real-time bidding systems. This role involves ownership of Reddit’s bid-based budget pacing system and campaign optimization products. The Engineering Manager will ensure advertiser budgets are used efficiently and effectively, contributing to sustainable revenue growth.Reddit distinguishes itself by attracting advertisers who want to connect with niche, interest-driven communities. The Auto-Bidding team enables efficient budget pacing, automated bidding strategies, and continual system improvement.Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • Significant experience managing engineering teams
  • Extensive hands-on experience building and operating large-scale Ads or Marketplace systems
  • Demonstrated success in managing, mentoring, and growing teams
  • Experience with real-time serving systems, model development, and optimization pipelines
  • Familiarity with PID controllers, multi-armed bandits, reinforcement learning, or other bidding/pricing optimization approaches
  • Skilled in designing new bidding optimization algorithms and conducting A/B tests
  • Knowledge of metric design, experimentation methodologies, and large-scale data analysis
  • Expertise in building and maintaining scalable systems, high-performance serving architectures, real-time streaming, and robust data pipelines
  • Familiarity with ads delivery, recommendations, targeting, or marketplace optimization systems
  • Ability to define a clear technical vision and lead day-to-day execution
  • Comfortable working across disciplines and communicating technical ideas to broad audiences
