Engineering Manager - Ads Auto-Bidding

Job Description

Reddit is seeking an Engineering Manager for Auto-Bidding to lead a team responsible for designing and optimizing large-scale, real-time bidding systems. This role is within the Advertiser Optimization organization, which plays a central role in building ad campaign optimizations that enable advertisers to efficiently capture user engagement while minimizing their costs. The Engineering Manager will oversee the development of Reddit's bid-based budget pacing system and campaign optimization products, ensuring advertiser budgets are used effectively.

Role involves:

• Defining and executing the long-term roadmap for the Auto-Bidding team.
• Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance auto-bidding algorithms.
• Recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top engineering talent.
• Partnering with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other engineering teams.
• Driving best practices for model quality, experimentation, system reliability, and operational excellence.

Requirements:

• Significant experience managing engineering teams, ideally in machine learning or similarly technical domains.
• Extensive hands-on experience building and operating large-scale Ads or Marketplace systems.
• Demonstrated success in managing, mentoring, and growing teams.
• Familiarity with PID controllers, multi-armed bandits, reinforcement learning, or other bidding/pricing optimization approaches.
• Expertise in building and maintaining scalable systems, high-performance serving architectures, real-time streaming, and robust data pipelines.
