Senior Machine Learning Manager - Ads Retrieval

Reddit is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Manager to lead and expand the Ads Retrieval team. This role involves combining ML technical skills, leadership, and strategic vision to develop retrieval solutions that adapt to Reddit's growth. The successful candidate will oversee the development of models and infrastructure that directly impact revenue, user satisfaction, and advertiser outcomes. This person will play a key role in the success of Reddit’s Ads business by leading the team that powers relevance and performance at scale.Responsibilities include:

• Setting technical vision and strategy for Reddit’s ads retrieval systems.
• Overseeing ML model and system development.
• Building and scaling a high-impact team.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, and backend engineers.
• Driving operational excellence.

Requirements include:

• Deep experience developing large-scale ML systems in production.
• Strong knowledge of early-stage ad ranking, embedding techniques, and candidate sourcing.
• Familiarity with auction systems, advertiser KPIs, or ad quality measurement.
• Proficiency in TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience managing multiple ML teams.
