Staff Software Engineer, Ads Insights

Job Description

Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Ads Insights team. This role is remote within the United States and focused on shaping the future of Reddit's monetization strategy through AI-based intelligence tools. The engineer will play a key role in developing and scaling the data infrastructure and insights tools.

Reddit has a flexible workforce and the company is open for employees to come to the office. If that is not possible one can apply to work remotely from countries where Reddit has a physical presence

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend and data infrastructure.
• Architect and implement scalable solutions for data growth and access.
• Collaborate with other teams to consolidate insights about Reddit’s data.
• Oversee data storage, retrieval, indexing, and query optimization strategies.
• Work with engineers and internal/external users to build the right products.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
• Proactively identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Technical leader in the execution of large scale projects from 0 to 1.
• Experience with LLMs and generative AI.
• Experience working with very large datasets.
• Experience partnering with product managers and designers.
• Experience solving complex system scaling and latency performance problems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Extensive software development experience in languages like Python, Golang, Rust, Java, Javascript, etc.
