Job Description
Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its Ads Insights team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of Reddit's monetization strategy by leveraging the platform's extensive data, AI, and the growing Ads business. The engineer will be at the forefront of building AI-based intelligence tools and will have significant ownership in the process.This position is remote, based in Ontario, Canada, offering the flexibility to work from home or, for those near a physical office, the option to work onsite.Responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, development, and maintenance of backend and data infrastructure.
- Architecting and implementing scalable solutions for data handling and access.
- Collaborating with various teams to consolidate insights about Reddit’s data.
- Overseeing data storage, retrieval, and query optimization strategies.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
- Identifying technical challenges and proposing innovative solutions.
Requirements include:
- 7+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience in large-scale project execution from inception.
- Experience with LLMs and generative AI.
- Experience working with very large datasets and multiple datastore technologies.
- Proven ability to partner with product managers and designers to build user-facing products.
- Expertise in solving complex system scaling and latency performance issues.
- Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration and discussing complex topics.
- Extensive software development experience in languages like Python, Golang, Rust, Java, or Javascript.
