Job Description
Reddit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Media Infrastructure to join their Core Platform team. The Core Platform team facilitates millions of API requests running the Core API Platform for Reddit. This role involves being a technical coach and mentor, ensuring systems have high uptime and strong performance, and building a roadmap to match the needs of a growing engineering organization. The Staff Engineer will build and scale features and services needed to create real-time experiences and spark connections. This role will impact hundreds of millions of users around the world.Here's what the role involves:
- Software development in Golang or Python
- Working with large-scale, mission-critical distributed systems
- Optimizing media performance, scalability, and delivery
- Partnering effectively with teams in a fully remote environment
- Building clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
The requirements for this role include:
- 10+ years of experience with large-scale, mission-critical distributed systems
- Media delivery expertise including experience with media quality of experience metrics
- Working knowledge of CDN technologies (Fastly, Cloudfare, Cloudfront)
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with API platform service architectures
