Reddit is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Global Privacy & Regulatory Affairs. This role is based in the Netherlands and can be performed remotely. The candidate will be responsible for managing a privacy compliance program, responding to regulatory inquiries, and building regulatory relationships.Reddit is a community-driven platform with millions of active users and communities. Supporting Reddit’s global privacy compliance program.
Providing advice and counsel to ensure Reddit meets its legal obligations.
Implementing and maintaining privacy- and legal-related policies and processes.
Partnering with product and technical teams to design and implement privacy controls.
Managing government and regulator discussions and negotiations.
Serving as a lead legal subject matter expert for privacy and data protection.
Partnering with technical teams to investigate potential privacy and security issues.
Being a strategic, proactive, and pragmatic legal partner.
Evangelizing Reddit’s privacy-focused approach.
Requirements:
Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.) and local license.
10+ years of legal experience, with 5+ years in-house privacy compliance experience.
Experience implementing and managing a successful privacy compliance program.
Experience with global privacy laws and industry guidelines.
Strong legal drafting and writing skills.
Experience responding to and partnering with regulators, particularly in Europe.
