Associate General Counsel, Privacy & Global Regulatory Affairs at Reddit

Reddit is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Privacy & Global Regulatory Affairs, to support its global privacy compliance program. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of legal experience, with 5+ years in-house, managing a privacy compliance program and building regulatory relationships. This is a remote role based in the Netherlands. Reddit offers relocation support.

Responsibilities:

• Support Reddit’s global privacy compliance program.
• Provide advice and counsel to ensure it meets its legal obligations.
• Implement and maintain external and internal policies and processes.
• Partner with product and technical teams to design and implement privacy controls.
• Manage government and regulator discussions.
• Be a lead legal subject matter expert for privacy and data protection.
• Partner with and advise technical teams to investigate potential privacy and security issues.
• Be a strategic, proactive and pragmatic legal partner.
• Be an evangelist across the company and externally for Reddit’s privacy-focused approach.

Requirements:

• Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.).
• Licensed in your jurisdiction, and ideally you have legal experience in multiple jurisdictions.
• 10+ years of legal experience, at a top law firm or in house, with 5+ years of in-house privacy compliance experience.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and managing a successful privacy compliance program.
• Experience with global privacy laws and industry guidelines.
• Strong legal drafting and writing skills.
• Experience responding to and partnering with regulators, particularly in Europe.
• Program/project management skills.
• Nimble, proactive and an excellent communicator.
• You are used to collaborating effectively across time zones and have the ability to build strong relationships with engineers, product managers, legal colleagues and other internal stakeholders at all levels of the business.
