Deliveroo is seeking a Vendor Manager (Buyer) to join their team in Dubai. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the local grocery business and experience in buying FMCG and fresh categories.

The Vendor Manager will work closely with the Vendor Management Lead, supporting the team in range selection, sourcing, pricing, cost and contract negotiation, promotions, merchandising, and marketing campaigns. The candidate should have existing supplier relationships within the UAE market. This position operates on a hybrid model, requiring three days a week in the Dubai (DIFC) office, and reports to the Senior Vendor Manager.

What this role involves:

  • Supporting the Vendor Management lead in product range selection and pricing.
  • Developing and managing relationships with local and international grocery suppliers.
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements with vendors.
  • Ensuring the right SKUs are nominated for promotional campaigns.
  • Analysing vendor performance and implementing corrective actions.
  • Managing vendor compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Working with the in-stock team to source new products and maintain inventory levels.
  • Resolving vendor-related issues and disputes.
  • Monitoring market trends and competitor activities.
  • Managing the vendor's SKU catalog in the Deliveroo system.
  • Monitoring SKU performance and optimising the range.
  • Managing invoice, payment, and account reconciliation with vendors.
  • Driving media spend with vendors to promote products.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in vendor management or buying within the local grocery market.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to build strong partnerships with vendors.
  • Experience in product range selection and pricing.
  • An analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Good understanding of grocery market trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Good knowledge of working on spreadsheets (Excel / Gsheets).
