Platform Frontend Software Engineer

Job Description

The AlphaVerse team is seeking a Platform Frontend Software Engineer to contribute to their mid-frequency trading and crowdsourcing platform. The engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the frontend infrastructure for all AlphaVerse products. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and possesses strong React and Python experience.

Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end development and operations of high-performance web applications
• Collaborate with backend developers to create user-friendly and responsive web applications
• Write clean, well-documented code with appropriate test coverage
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
• Assist in troubleshooting and debugging production issues
• Be on-call on a rotating basis
• Help establish engineering best practices and coding standards
• Mentor future junior team members as we scale

Requirements:

• Able to thrive in the crucible of an extremely fast-paced, demanding start-up like environment
• Able to bear immense responsibility for high-stakes, large-scale production infrastructure
• Strong proficiency in React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Proficient in Python with some understanding of how it works at the lower level
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful services
• Understanding of web applications performance optimization techniques
• Experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Datastore,Cloud Storage
• Experience with PostgreSQL (or an equivalent SQL database)
• Some knowledge of financial markets and instruments is a plus
