Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is seeking a talented Product Manager to join their Logistics Team in Cape Town. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, hyper-growth environment alongside industry leaders.

The Product Manager will report to the Logistics Product Lead and play a crucial role in defining the vision and roadmap for the Takealot Group Logistics Facilities and Network product.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical IT user stories and project specifications.
  • Manage a team of business analysts and junior product managers.
  • Collaborate with customer service, engineering, design, operations, and stakeholders.
  • Define and track metrics to inform product decisions.
  • Create business cases to motivate project prioritization.
  • Elicit detailed functional requirements and document them for technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to establish technical vision.
  • Ensure development and QA teams understand requirements.
  • Set timelines, manage stakeholder communications, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Review test plans and perform user acceptance testing.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of execution and product roadmap development.
  • Ability to guide junior product managers, business analysts, UX experts, and engineering teams.
  • Solution-oriented, accountable, and highly motivated.
  • Strong analytical background with data-driven decision-making.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, BCom Computer Science, or a similar degree.
  • At least 2 years experience in a product development environment.
  • Preferably 2 years of agile experience.
  • Experience in e-commerce or Supply Chain and Logistics is an advantage.
