Takealot.com, a leading online retailer in South Africa, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their Fulfilment Mobile team. The role involves designing, developing, and refining new features for their Android application, as well as locating and resolving bugs and crashes. The engineer will collaborate with teammates on design, code reviews, and estimation.
Responsibilities include:
- Helping design, develop and refine new features
- Locating and resolving bugs and crashes
- Brainstorming new ideas and concepts
- Working with teammates on design, code reviews, and estimation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering with 3+ years experience, or 6+ years experience in a software development role (with 2+ years in native Android)
- Full understanding of the Android application and activity lifecycles
- Appreciation of Android-specific asynchronous processing techniques and user experience design patterns
- Knowledge of strategies to handle platform fragmentation, differing screen sizes and multiple OS versions
