Job Description
Auctane is seeking an Engineering Manager - Database Engineer to join their team. This role is hybrid remote and based in Wrocław or Zielona Gora, Poland. The Engineering Manager will significantly impact the team's operations, enhance tools and processes for people management, and collaborate with other engineering managers. What this role involves:
- Managing a multi-member team.
- Consistently delivering products in line with established action plans.
- Ensuring code quality and functionality through the production phase.
- Upholding the quality of processes, projects, and systems agreed upon by the team.
- Defining service features and components under the team's responsibility.
- Continuously improving both personal and team performance.
- Effectively communicating progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Serving as a trusted technical authority and providing guidance.
- Leading discussions on team architecture and design strategies.
- Mentoring less experienced developers.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define action plans and manage priorities.
- Monitoring team engagement and well-being.
- Identifying and resolving potential performance challenges.
- Supporting the development and career growth of team members.
- Participating in recruitment processes.
- Advocating for business and technical decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a DBE.
- In-depth knowledge and proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language).
- Proficiency in managing SQL database systems.
- Strong understanding of database design principles.
- Experience in database administration tasks.
- Knowledge of database security best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Polish and English are required for this role.
