Principal Engineer at Via

Via is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Software Engineer to join their R&D center in Tel Aviv. The candidate will be a key member of a cross-functional team, building infrastructure and setting coding standards. This role involves research, programming, creating scalable systems, and hands-on operational work in production environments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead the long-term vision and strategy for Via’s infrastructure and tooling.
• Create scalable, reliable, and efficient systems to enhance the technological foundation.
• Engage in hands-on coding, development, deployment, and maintenance in production environments.
• Participate in day-to-day production operations, addressing operational challenges.
• Collaborate with various development teams to address business objectives.
• Work across technological disciplines, from network internals to architecture planning.

Requirements:

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in backend and infrastructure development.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Python, Go, Rust, Java, C, C#, or C++.
• Experience in large-scale production microservices environments and DevOps operations.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to move between teams and projects in a dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
