Via is seeking a Routing Staff Engineer to play a crucial role in shaping the R&D Group's technical vision and working on high-impact projects. The engineer will be a key leader, guiding engineers and upholding high technical standards in navigation engine components.

The Routing Staff Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions for mapping services and real-time route services. They will also optimize Via’s navigation engine, contribute to the development of Via’s server software, and ensure a scalable infrastructure.

Role involves:
  • Shaping the Group’s technical landscape and driving innovation.
  • Driving system design, architecture, and integration efforts.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Developing high-quality code and participating in code reviews.
  • Staying current with industry trends and best practices.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in software development and systems architecture.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructures and building complex solutions in production.
  • Extensive experience in Backend programming with an object-oriented language.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
