Via is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their R&D center in Tel Aviv. The candidate will be part of a team of developers and DevOps engineers, contributing to Via's product using cutting-edge technologies. This role plays a critical part in shaping the future of transportation, affecting tens of thousands of riders daily worldwide.

The Platform Group focuses on building and maintaining the foundation on which Via operates. This includes cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD systems, and tools.

What the role involves:

  • Defining infrastructure standards for dev teams
  • Designing, implementing, and developing tools for controlling infrastructure of microservices
  • Building CI/CD automation and templates with GitLab
  • Building, maintaining, and operating AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure
  • Developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the applications and architecture at Via
  • Working in contact with other teams across the company to ensure smooth and documented changes to all environments
  • Identifying and resolving problems in mission-critical services, automating remediation procedures to prevent recurrences
  • Bringing ideas to the table, taking ownership over project timelines and deliverables, and helping Via scale

Requirements:

  • BSc. Computer Science or similar
  • 5+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack development in a product development team
  • Object oriented programming programming experience is required
  • 3+ years experience as DevOps/SRE in a production environment
  • 2+ years experience with containers, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo CD
  • 2+ years experience with AWS or GCP/Azure
  • 1+ years experience with CICD - GitLab/Jenkins/Github actions/etc.
  • Experience with networking, distributed systems, SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration
  • Fluent in English language
  • Experienced with declarative IaC tools like Terraform, Cloudformation or Pulumi (Advantage)
