Via, a company focused on transforming transportation through technology, is seeking a Software Engineering Team Lead. This role is pivotal in leading the development and evolution of Via's core routing engine. The Team Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and refine algorithms that address complex optimization problems, ensuring scalability and adaptability to the changing needs of users. He will be part of Via’s Routing real-time systems.

- Leading and managing a team of Backend engineers, overseeing the development of both end-to-end services and core infrastructure components.
- Working closely with Product & Algo teams to design and refine routing algorithms & continuously optimize algorithms to handle large-scale, real-time data efficiently.
- Developing, owning, and executing the team's roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
- Overseeing project objectives to enhance and support the overall product strategy.
- Managing, coaching, and fostering the growth of the engineering team.
- Guiding and mentoring team members to ensure they deliver exceptional results by promoting best practices and addressing technical challenges.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 6+ years of experience with BE software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Go, Java).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex problems and design elegant, scalable solutions.
- Strong background in algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization.
- Experience with routing, pathfinding, and optimization algorithms.
- BSc. in Computer Science / Math or equivalent - Must.
