Senior Associate (2025 PhD/ABD graduates) (Competition practice) at Charles River Associates

Charles River Associates (CRA) is seeking a Senior Associate to join its European Competition practice. The role involves providing economic advice on competition policy and regulation to firms and their legal advisors. The Senior Associate will work closely with senior consultants on project teams, contributing to high-profile competition cases in Europe.

Responsibilities:

• Identifying and conceptualizing issues.
• Specifying rigorous economic models to analyze market issues and data.
• Undertaking statistical and econometric estimation.
• Supervising, training and mentoring research associate staff.
• Assisting in the development and presentation of client deliverables.
• Acting as a primary point of contact for lawyers and other industry or government clients.
• Programming, building models and/or performing regression analyses in statistical analysis programs.
• Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions.
• Contributing to practice-building activities.

Requirements:

• PhD degree in economics.
• Academic focus on Applied Microeconomics or Applied Microeconometrics.
• Experience in Excel, Stata, Python, R, SQL, SAS, ArcGIS/ArcPy, or Cloud computing.
• Understanding of economic, financial and/or accounting concepts.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn new skills and programming languages.
• High level of initiative and leadership.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
• Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
• Clear and demonstrated interest in consulting.
